Do i need a partner to take class?
No you do not need a partner for classes. Our class registration controls the ratio of women/men. And we have an ample supply of instructors and assistants to fill any gaps!
I am a real beginner, with no dance experience and am nervous I will embarrass myself.
There is no need to be nervous as our beginner class is taught by our fun, caring and patient instructors who love to teach dance. Classes are cumulative and students progress week after week with reviews and new moves.
What is the difference between Salsa and Latin classes?
- Salsa is one type of dance that is taught continuously throughout the semester.
- Latin Dance classes teach several dances through out the semester including Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Cha cha cha, Casino and Cumbia.
Can I video the lesson?
With the permission of the instructor, recording the turn pattern taught at the end of the lesson is permitted.
Can i take drop in classes and not register for the semester?
Absolutely! Drop in classes are available to students for Zumba, Salsa Intermediate and Salsa Advanced. We do not advise drop in for beginner Salsa or Latin as it would be difficult for a drop in beginner student to jump into a class in the middle of a semester.
I’m a dancer from a different background, do I have to start at beginner level?
Not necessarily but we recommend an assessment with one of our instructors- there are certain techniques and basic moves that are mandatory to be in intermediate or advanced levels.
I’m Latino, I know how to dance, can I be in the advanced class?
Not necessarily and we recommend an assessment with our directors or one of our instructors- there are certain techniques and moves that are mandatory for advanced level.
I want to learn lifts and dips? When can I learn the lifts?

Can you teach me a special choreography for my wedding, birthday or Quinceañera?
Absolutely! If you have music selected, we can cut and edit your song and if not, we can suggest an appropriate one for you, and then we will create the perfect routine which will include special dips/lifts for the ‘Wow’ factor and photography moments! Special choreography is not limited to Latin music, we create routines to contemporary/pop/classical numbers to suit your need. And of course, NO Experience necessary.
Can I hire the Baila Boogaloo Professional Dance Troupe for a performance my wedding or next event?
Absolutely, we can create spectacular custom dance show packages from 2- 18 dancers, full costume changes that can include audience participation in the form of a group dance lesson!
What is performance level class?
Performance class is taught 2x a week and is for students who want to learn choreography, lifts/dips, showmanship, acting and stage presence. Students will perform at the end of the semester in studio and then on stage at local venues/stages in costume. In addition to the 24 in-class hours, students also train with the professional show team. This course is open to intermediate/advanced level dancers, a short private audition for those not from the BB dance school is required. What kind of Salsa does the company teach?
We teach Salsa on 1, Latin style. Artistic director, Joaquin E. Martinez, born and raised in El Salvador ensures Latin Authenticity in all classes and shows.
Do you have group outings?
For all Baila Boogaloo students, we offer regularly scheduled class/group outings at popular local Salsa & Latin dance clubs/venues where Baila Boogaloo hosts and teaches on specific evenings and students are encouraged to attend to practice, socialize and just have fun! Baila Boogaloo Group outings are always offered with valuable discounted cover rates, dinner packages, show prices etc.
Do you teach kids dance class?
Yes we do! We teach children 5-11 years old and teens. The children do not need experience and this class is great for building focus, increased self esteem, fun and exercise Latin style! Our teen class (needs some experience) learns choreography and perform at various local venues with the Baila Boogaloo Dance Company Professional Dance Troupe. **To encourage all to dance we maintain this course cost at the affordable rate of $85.
What is the age limit for classes?
